Dev Update #279
That last week of the year is always very busy with family stuff and festivities. As every year, my productivity has been brought to near zero and it will most likely stay like that until January 2nd and the release of the game on Steam.
Animations
After 90 hours of rendering, I finally assembled my first animation... and it's a disaster. I'll have to repose some elements and rerender the whole thing. It's excessively difficult to have a decent preview in Daz as the viewport is very laggy in animation mode, and rendering a preview takes 3 to 4 hours. I should have taken that time though, because here I am now, with 90 hours of rendering wasted. Maybe I'm too ambitious. Maybe I should aim for some shorter loops first. But I despise those 1 seconds pump action clips. I'm not sure what to do anymore.
I also worked on a second animation that proved too difficult to pose properly for my current skills, I'll have to reframe it to exclude some problematic parts. I'm not going to make the same mistake twice however and will render a preview first, just to make sure it's not utterly worthless.
The amount of time needed to render these animations is insane. I'm not sure it's really worth it.
Steam.
The build for Steam has been deployed. The game will be priced at $14.99. I have to look into regional pricing as I've been told that it might need some manual tweaking.
I hope you all had a wonderful and Merry Christmas, and I wish you all a Happy New Year.
The quick sum up :
- Day 6 Part 6 will contain 3 new scenes: scenes 30, 31, and 32.
- Day 6 Part 6 will contain 1 reworked scene: Day 2, scene 3.
- 5060 words of new content so far.
- 149 shots are planned, 70 are posed, 64 are rendered.
- 2 animations have been posed. 16 seconds, 540 frames.
- I'm currently posing scene 30.
You can follow my progress on this Trello board.
You can also add the game to your wishlist on Steam !

Hey… this is awesome news. A few short months ago it sounds like steam wasn’t going to happen. Now it is? Thats *huge*.
I look forward to doing a purchase on there and leaving a review to drum up business.
I agree, animations aren’t the end all be all. I’m playing through Eternum right now w/my spouse as we missed the last 2 updates from our last playthrough a year or two ago and there’s little “Oooo… Ahhh” animations every hour or two of gameplay but they’re just scene setters and nothing related to sex scenes or anything like that that game is in my top 5 for writing. Without any animations I don’t think it’d affect that games appeal at all and it consistently rates high.
Harem Hotel does do animated sex scenes but they’re forgettable and most of that games appeal (to me) is in the world/character building as it’s progressed after a pretty lackluster porn-game start. It also rates high but is totally linear.
Your game, to me, is very unique in its character being able to be wildly bad, good or in between and how it affects a stretch of days. Many games are linear in how your actions affect things and while your settings are linear… how your actions affect people is wildly different. If animations don’t pan out, I wouldn’t be overly concerned. For me at least, animations or a lack there of was never a draw or turn off. Your divergent paths are what make it special, to me.
2025 will hopefully be a big year! Hope your 2024 is ending with a bang. 👍
Thank you for your feedback and your kind words.
We are like minded.
If it helps at all, IMO it's better to have no animations over bad animations. And for me, a variety of movement between stills and strong writing is more effective than almost all animations.
I agree.
That's my opinion too. But there is a very strong demand for animation, to the point that some wouldn't even think of playing a game without animations. But would that mean that they would accept just any animations ? I don't know. I do think that quality matters. I do hope it does.
