Dev Update #260

Scene 29.

Posing in progress. Some of the shots I'm working on are very quick to pose, and some others literally take hours to finish. It is often the case when characters are having any kind of physical contact. It's really frustrating. Every time I feel I'm making progress I have to spend hours on a single shot. I inevitably end up feeling like I waste my time.

I'm pretty happy with the previews, however. The light is pretty nice, in my opinion. I've been changing the way I light my scenes in that update and the previous one, especially in the living room set. I'm trying and experimenting with things that I will no doubt use later in other sets.

I'm mostly finished with the first part of the scene, the second segment should be easier to deal with, while the third one... might take some more time.

Steam.

I contacted 31 curators, through Steam's curator connect program. 7 of them have more or less tested the game and delivered a review during this week. That led to a noticeable bump in wishlists but a very small one. The game has been listed on Steam for a month and a half now and it has barely reached the 2000 wishlist mark. And that seems very low to me. I'm not gonna lie, I'm worrying a bit.

The quick sum up :

  • Day 6 Part 5 will contain 2 new scenes: scenes 28 and 29.
  • Day 6 Part 5 will contain 1 reworked scene: Day 2, scene 2.
  • Day 6 scene 28 has been written, posed, and is mostly rendered.
  • Day 6 scene 29 has been written and is currently being posed.
  • 16 184 words of new content so far.
  • 496 shots are planned, 307 are posed, and 199 are rendered.
  • I'm currently posing scene 29.

You can follow my progress on this Trello board.

You can also add the game to your wishlist on Steam !

please stop teasing (ok that’s like asking a writer to stop writing) i don’t need all these updates, i just want well, updates !!! i would recommend that you leave all the details to people that like that, give us a choice, i really don’t need this much information

Well, I can understand the frustration. However, most of you seem to enjoy, or at least find useful my weekly dev updates, therefore I do not plan to stop.
I don't know if you have any way to filter on this, but I publish my dev updates under the "General Update" category and announce new releases under the "Major Update" category. I hope it helps.

good, then i just turn of notifications, and i will miss the only one i need, that there is an actual update of the game !, i'm following dozens of authors like you, you use this site as it's your facebook/instagram, again, i would split the social aspect from the crucial information we need to get the latest version. did you talk to "most" the imaginary statistic ? did "most" tell you they like to get news about 3D renders, and scripts ?

Again, sorry if this is annoying to you.

No, I don't use Itch as my facebook. I simply publish a report on the progress of the game. And I do believe that's what itch is made for.

And yes, I had several positive feedbacks on my weekly dev updates, and they are not from imaginary sources. Some people like knowing where their money is going.
