Dev Update #277

Scene 30.

I've been pretty busy this week and progress has been limited But still, progress there is. I posed some more shots and reworked a few paragraphs. I'm at shot #68 and I've reached the point in the script where I think of inserting my first animation. So I'm working on it.

Animations.

I thought about it all week and I think I'm going to try both software. It will take more time but that's what will be the more beneficial. I have great hopes to make something decent with Blender and will start with that option. My first objective is to get my Blender renders to look as close as possible to my Iray images. If I fail, I'll switch back to Daz. It will be a technical loss, but at least, the look and feel will be preserved. I've been watching and reading Blender tutorials all week long and trying various stuff. It's time to put it to use. I expect a steep learning curve but some great benefits to come.

Rendering.

Rendering is going at a steady pace. Currently up to shot #37. Honestly. It looks good to me. The light is very flat, because of the main light at the center of the room. It's a design flaw I inflicted upon myself right when I created the set 5 years ago, and I cannot change that. However, I do my best to add some highlights and shadows to make it more interesting. Some shots are looking pretty good. I hope I can keep it consistent over the whole scene.

Steam.

The Steam release is approaching. I initially wanted to release it on Christmas but I've been told it's a very bad idea. So bad that Steam won't even allow me to schedule the release for that date. It's a matter of work day and support apparently. So I'm going to postpone it to January the 2nd. The version I'll release on Steam will be v0.6.5b.

The quick sum up :

  • Day 6 Part 6 will contain 3 new scenes: scenes 30, 31, and 32.
  • Day 6 Part 6 will contain 1 reworked scene: Day 2, scene 3.
  • 5060 words of new content so far.
  • 149 shots are planned, 68 are posed, 37 are rendered.
  • I'm currently posing scene 30.

You can follow my progress on this Trello board.

You can also add the game to your wishlist on Steam !
